1950年5月19日，人民解放军完全解放舟山群岛。从1949年8月开始，中国人民解放军第三野战军第七兵团一部对浙江舟山群岛实施渡海登陆作战，先后解放舟山岛外围岛屿。国民党军迫于形势于1950年5月13日开始将据守舟山的部队秘密撤退。16日，人民解放军开始向舟山本岛进军。17日，全部登陆舟山本岛，18日晚19日凌晨舟山群岛全部解放。
Beginning in August 1949, a unit of the Seventh Corps of the Third Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army carried out sea-crossing and landing operations on the Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang Province, and successively liberated the outer islands of Zhoushan Island. Forced by the situation, the Kuomintang army began to secretly withdraw its troops from Zhoushan on May 13, 1950. On the 16th, the People's Liberation Army began advancing towards Zhoushan Island. On the 17th, all of them landed on the Island, and till the early morning of the 19th, the Zhoushan Islands were completely liberated.
