In 1905, Yang Jingyu (originally named Ma Shangde) was born in Queshan County, Henan Province. After joining the Communist Party of China at the age of 22, he actively participated in revolutionary activities, and led the armed struggle against Japanese aggression in the northeast part of China.
During the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, General Yang Jingyu was one of the main leaders of the Northeast United Resistance Army Against Japanese aggression. Under extremely difficult conditions, General Yang Jingyu and his troops engaged in numerous fierce battles with the Japanese army, demonstrating the firm will and indomitable fighting spirit as a member of the Communist Party of China.
